Music and Our Generation

I was inspired by some recent posts by http://thefashionadventuresofkristan.blogspot.com/ (a really neat blog :) ) And it led me to some interesting thoughts... When you turn on the radio... What do you hear? Rap? Pop? The kind of music that blares from cars so loud it practically drowns out your life? This music is so common and praised that we never take the time to LISTEN to the lyrics. What do they mean? Apparently, song writers are one step ahead of us , cause these songs have NO positive meaning or message..some of them have NO message at all. 95% of popular songs are all about drugs...and sex. Music is supposed to affect you...move you... But these songs are crap with crap meanings... Who is letting this slide?? Our music generation has gone down the crapper... As has our generation... I'm not saying it's any worse than before... 60's - 90's was just as bad with the drugs , If not worse but at least people had to have talent to get a music contract... Now a days, anyone who can carry tune can slam themselves an album... And even top iTunes charts... Maybe I can get my shower singing published??! New career? Maybe!
